The first boy was Joe Disney. His father was in the choir (tenor). His sister married Walter Porter. Walter's granddaughter owned a shop in Edmund Road. The Porters are an old Spondon family. Walter's uncle played cicket for Derby County in the 1890s. (Notes ascribed to Guy Brighouse.)
