Sitwell Street

Dated: 1986
Taken by: Guy Brighouse

According to George Wright's paper (1913), the righthand cottage was a butcher's shop and the other building a slaughterhouse, when he was a boy.  As he was born in 1843/44, it must have looked rather different.  It was later coachhouse and stable for the Homestead, and the gardener lived in the cottage.
