GC writes: This cannot be 1968 as the schools went comprehensive in 1971 and this photo shows teachers from both Spondon Park and Spondon House schools. The other photo of teachers on the website is from 1972 so this photo must be around ‘73/’74. Mr Hughes became Headmaster after the schools were merged. Mrs Stringer is wearing the same dress on both photos so it’s unlikely to be much later.

No, this picture is from 1973/1974. The headmaster sat in the middle is Mr Hughes who took over from Mr Pitt in about 1973 flanked on his right by Mr Raw and on his left Mr Morris. On Mr Raw's right is Mr White who taught me French in 1972-73 and who had taught my father some 32 years earlier. To the left of Mr Morris is Mr Daniels. I hope that helps. R
