Chapel Lane celebration, Queen Elizabeth II's Coronation

Dated: Either 1947 or 1953

Bunting is hung across Chapel Lane to celebrate a royal event - either the Queen's wedding to Prince Philip in 1947 or her Coronation in 1953.

I'm 99% sure that this photo is of the Queen's coronation, 1953. There was a street party; Chapel Street, Chapel Lane and Hall Dyke celebrated together on the (then) fields on the right-hand side at the top of Chapel Lane, and each child was given a coronation half-crown and a coronation mug (both of which I still have!).
