Clock Farm/Borrowfield Farm
Clock Farm, Nottingham Road, or to give it its correct nbame, Borrowfield Farm. It was owned by Mr John Meakin in the 1800s. The Meakins were a very old Spondon farming family. The farm was later owned by Mr Ben Sims, whose mother was a daughter of John Meakin. It was Mr Ben Sims who had the clock fitted on the farm building, hence Clock Farm. This Borrowfield Farm should not be confused with Burrowfield Farm, which was off Dale Road.
