I worked in both A & H Stations from about 1974 to 1980 then transferred to Ratcliffe Power Station. H Station at the time was about the most efficient Power Station in the UK due to the fact it sold its used steam to Celenese next door. I remember as a kid in Spondon how Mum used to curse when bringing in the washing with soot spots all over it from those small chimneys of the old A Station !
