Spondon Will.
Benjamin, Alice, Rosa and Mirabel Sims, were the children of Mrs Alice Sims of Springfield farm (1899). Mrs Alice Sims was a Miss Meakin, the Meakins had been farmers in Spondon since before the enclosure Act (1780/90). Ben Sims married the only daughter of Mr Joseph Brighouse, Dunstall, Chapel street, and Mr Ben Sims was then the owner of Springfield farm also Clock farm at the corner of Notts Road/Stoney lane. Mr jack Sims of West Road managed Springfield, the farmhouse was let to Mr Sydney Brighouse until Ben Sims sold up, about 1915/16, when Mr Jack Sims bought Springfield.
