This begs the question, "When was the Borrowash By-Pass planed?" It's obvious that when these houses were built there was land left for the future A52.
The by-pass was planned prior
The by-pass was planned prior to the 2nd World War.
The two fields between Willowcroft Road and Nottingham Road (Celanese Houses) were fenced off. From Willowcroft Road one could walk east all the way to Risley along the planned track of the road.
The Spondon cycle speedway track was at the junction with Borrowash Road.
